Magic Scallions

Beck is playing in Jersey City, a few blocks away from me at The Historic Loew’s Theater (built in 1929, oh those roarin’ twenties). A decade ago Beck’s Loser would be teaching me Spanish while I jumped on beds rocking out. Ever since Odelay! came out I would make “that was a good drum break” references. Good variations are, “that was a good shit break,” or, “that was a good sex break.” Ten years later, Steve-o would bring home the game boy remix vinyl of Hell Yes. If I ever: A) Figure out what Todd Abramson looks like and then B) meet him, I will give him a high five for booking this show. He is the promoter for Maxwell’s in Hoboken. My dream would be to have The Smashing Pumpkins reuinte, have Mr. Abramson book them at the Loew’s Theater, have their tour bus break down, and then have James Iha crash at apt for a bit while we jammed and debated the finer points of being an Japanese-American rockstar.
