Magic Scallions

Ordered a coffee and a taylor ham egg cheese (TaHaEggChee) this morning from Jewish deli. Asked for it done wit’ “milk and sugar” (the coffee, not the TaHaEggChee). Got a cup of sweetened milk. What’s the point of the coffee if you can’t taste it?! Might as well crap in a cup, shove in a caffeine pill, and add some condensed milk. But check out this web app - retrievr. You draw something in its interface (like a really simplified Illustrator) and it searches through flickr to find photos that resemble what you drew. Unfortunately right now it’s slow/down because Slashdot and The Wall Street Journal wrote articles about the site. There ought to be a common knowledge “virtual tip jar” for the web. So if you think something is really awesome/innovative you can leave them a tip to help pay for server costs and keep them cranking out good stuff. Putting ads on a site (even Google ads, as unobtrusive and relevant as they’re advertised to be) is pretty tacky, but I suggest a new net common courtesy - put a single Google ad at the very bottom of your site and if you visit a site you really like, look for this ad at the bottom and click it.
